“Bak kut teh” bloggers to be charged today

THE couple who mocked Islam and Ramadan through their Facebook page, Alvin Tan, 25, and Vivian Lee, 24, will be charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court at Jalan Duta tomorrow, City Criminal Investigation Department head Datuk Ku Chin Wah said.

However, he declined to say the charge to be made against the couple.

According to a police source, the couple was supposed to turn up at the Dang Wangi police station at 3pm today, but they did not do so.

The couple had posted a photograph of themselves enjoying bak kut teh (a pork dish) and a caption on it which touched the sensitivity of Muslims in the country. – Bernama.
