KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Mlaysia): Datuk Dr. Jeffrey
Kitingan has expressed disbelief that the Election Commision has run out of
voter registration forms.
DATUK DR. JEFFREY KITINGAN |
The Sabah STAR Chairman said in a statement here that he had received
feedbacks from his people in various districts that those who want to register
as voters in a hurry before the next general election had been told by the Post
Offices that they had run out of the forms.
He said that for instance the STAR divisional leaders in Tenom had
inquired with the Tenom Post Office, but were told there were no more forms,
and when they called the Post Office in Kota Kinabalu they were also told the
same, and that the new stock of forms “Belum sampai” (are yet to arrive).
“I refuse to believe the EC can face this simple problem especially
because they are the one who have been urging Malaysians to register as
voters,” he said. “Is it possible this is one of those cases of planned
restriction of forms due to some motives?”
He is calling on the EC to make a clarification on the matter, to
explain to the people what really is happening because such a shortage is
unacceptable.
“Such forms are not difficult to produce, unlike in the case of
producing ICs and credit cards,” he said. “If a national newspaper can print up
to 300,000 copies of their papers everyday I don’t see any reason why a
national organization like the EC can run out of simple one-page forms. In fact
such forms should be available for downloads in the ERC website.”
“If it is true that the whole of Sabah has run out of forms the people
would interpret it negatively and believe the EC is up to something fishy,” he
added. “In fact we in STAR suspect this may be a deliberate act to limit or stop
new voters from going into the electoral role perhaps because of the belief
that the younger crop of voters are mostly anti-BN.”
Do register on line if no forms.
BalasPadamHave you actually read this article??? This article is about EC running out of form. There is nothing stated in the article about 300,000 people who have reached the age of 21 hasn't register.
PadamJadi yang belum mengundi tu pastikan anda mendaftar. Jangan jadi rakyat Malaysia kalau tak mahu jalankan t/jawab!!
BalasPadamEC should always ensure that the voter registration forms will never run out by printing more forms when its about to run out.
PadamBukan susah tapi malas ba tu...
BalasPadamkalau tiba2 ramai pengundi, dia bising.. bila kurang pengundi pun dia bising..
I also think that JK is up to something fishy..
